July Goals Revisited

1. Read 4 books
I missed this goal by about 100 pages. I’m almost done Goodnight From London, by Jennifer Robson and would easily have finished it in time if I was reading as regularly as I should be. So, even though I failed this goal, I did manage to finish three books this month: Crazy Rich Asians, China Rich Girlfriend, and Rich People Problems (all by Kevin Kwan).

2. Run 20 miles total
This one was maybe a little too ambitious for the month of July when I had just cancelled my gym membership and would have to start running outside again. I feel like every time I wanted to go for a run, it was either raining or unbelievably hot. I ended up only making it out for a measly 2.5 miles. Whoops.

3. Clean off and out my desk
This is another half done goal I suppose. I’m moving into a new apartment that’s quite a bit smaller than my current place this Sunday. I think I’m going to replace the large desk I have now with something smaller and more suited to the space. For this reason, I’ve gone through most of my desk, but it does need to be sorted through more thoroughly when I actually know how much space for things I have.

4. Visit a museum (other than the one I work at of course!)
I went to the Canadian Museum of Nature while my mom was visiting, to check out the new Canada Goose Arctic Gallery.

5. Make a running playlist
I did succeed at this goal! The playlist is mostly songs from the late 90s and early 2000s, but it is created and keeps me at a good pace while running.

So overall, only 2/5, which is not such a great start, but it could be worse. Going to try a little harder on my August Goals.

August Goals

1. Read 3 books
2. Get everything into and unpacked in my new apartment
3. Visit a museum (another one!)
4. Run 10 miles (hopefully this will be more attainable even with the move)
5. Minimize my belongings as I move (I have way too many things I just don’t need!)
6. Meditate Daily
7. Take a Multi-Vitamin daily
8. As per my 101 in 1001 list, write a letter to be opened on day 1001
