September Goals Revisted

1. Read 3 books.

I'm still 4 books behind on my yearly Goodreads challenge... but I did manage to squeeze 3 books into the month of September. I read The Women in the Castle by Jessica Shattuck, The Orphan Master's Son by Adam Johnson, and Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod

2. Write a letter to myself open on day 1001 of my 101 in 1001.

I did this and actually wrote the letter as a blog post which I have scheduled to automatically publish on day 1001 of my current 101 in 1001 list.

3. Meditate daily.

Thanks to the Headspace app, I successfully completed this goal. I'm up over 100 days of using the app in a row and I absolutely love it and would recommend it to all. I like to meditate first thing in the morning because I find it helps to wake me up peacefully and brings a kind of awareness to my day right from the getgo. 

4. Run 10 miles.

This one didn't go completely as planned, but I did manage to run a total of 10 miles exactly during the month. I'm trying to get into the habit of running at least 1 mile per day, so the plan was to run these 10, one at a time. In reality, the majority were run last week, with up to 2.75 miles being completed at a time. But that's still a win!

5. Visit a museum.

I did not manage to make time this month to visit another museum, which is unfortunate. I would blame the terrible cough I had for most of the month, but, honestly, I think it was just poor planning on my part.

6. Don’t stop for breakfast on the way to work (eat at home).

I almost failed at this goal a few times, but managed to remind myself that it was a goal and made the time to scrounge up some breakfast. At one point, I even ended up bring a jug of almond milk to put in the fridge at work for breakfast of Honey Nut Cheerios when I didn't have time for a meal at home. But I did succeed at not buying breakfast on the way to work, which, unfortnutately, had become too much of a habit over the summer.

I did extremely well this month, judging on my past records, with 5/6 of my goals being accomplished. That's 83%! Overall, that brings my total so far up to 10/19 or 53%, which feels like I'm getting on track with these goals. (My 101 in 1001 goal is to complete 50% of my monthly goals in a year).

4. Stick to my grocery budget.

5. Reach at least 10,000 steps everyday.

6. Try a new recipe.

7. Write at least 5 blog posts.

8. Visit a museum.

9. Continue meditating daily.

10. Catch up on my book reviews.
